Start of the “Quiet” Season

Well, today marks 1 week since the last farmers market of 2017, and as I sit here on this snowy morning, I am thankful that it didn’t last one more week (Ha!). In the high season here in my tourist town of Grand Marais, Minnesota, I also worked as a waitress at a local restaurant that serves organic local food, and focuses on sustainability (They purchase wind power etc etc.) called Angry Trout Cafe. Although I was busier than I liked some weeks, I was SO THANKFUL for this job, and the precious people I worked with/for.

Last week, I was given the opportunity by my incredible bosses to have a sale INSIDE the restaurant! It was super well attended, and I hit RECORD sales! I was so humbled by all of the local support I have here, and because of the local support and also others who have found me in various ways, I decided to take a leap and focus solely on my ceramic art this winter! It is exhilarating and scary at the same time. I have a family, and my decisions don’t just effect me. However, I do believe that I was born with this passion for ceramic arts for a reason, and that if I keep following it and improving my skills, I will be successful.

So CHEERS to the start of the “Quiet” season, that because of online sales and local sales and holiday sales coming up, hasn’t been very quiet at all, which is just the way I like it! So thankful and excited for what is to come!
